Welcome

We are very happy that you have decided to pursue a degree at the University of Freiburg or are planning to spend a semester or two abroad here.

The main responsibilities of the International Office are:

• maintaining the University of Freiburg’s international academic relations and contacts;
• advising and supporting international students and scholars;
• providing information on study opportunities abroad and organizing studies abroad around the world;
• helping other departments and institutions of the University of Freiburg to coordinate their international activities.

Where can I find what I’m looking for?

All information for international students, international doctoral candidates, and students from Freiburg is bundled on the Student Portal.

Information for international visiting scholars is listed separately.

Information on international club get-togethers, parties, the ‘Studitours’ program, buddies, and tandems as well as free advertisements from students may be found on the pages of the International Club.

In addition, our pages include information on Eucor – European Confederation of Universities in the Upper Rhine Valley.

You can find the office hours of the individual staff members on the contact page.

You can find us in the administrative building of the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Fahnenbergplatz (Friedrichstrasse 39), ground floor and first floor. If you are using public transportation, take any tram line to the “Stadttheater” stop or bus number 10, 13, or 14 to the “Fahnenbergplatz” stop.
